Job summary

The City of Cleveland seeks a Grant Administrator - Finance to manage grant financial processes in an in-person role. You will coordinate pre- and post-award activities, ensure compliance with governing policies, and support program staff to strengthen fiscal controls.

You will prepare proposals, track deadlines, monitor budgets and expenditures, produce reports for funding agencies, and help develop a new strategic finance unit within the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, or closely related field is required.
• Two years of grant writing and grant administration experience for governmental or non-profit organizations required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with accounting/finance standards and CFR 2 CFR Part 200 and City Grant Management Policy.
• Conduct financial management and analysis of grant awards, including pre-award budgeting, post-award tracking, and expense monitoring.
• Create, analyze, review, and audit financial reports for internal stakeholders and funding agencies.
• Collaborate with grant managers, finance teams, and external partners to align with grant objectives and fiscal compliance.
• Track grant deadlines, funding conditions, and regulatory/financial compliance requirements.
• Review and audit grant-related fiscal transactions, including reimbursements and reconciliations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance grant administration.
• Establish and maintain official grant records.
• Assist in grant training for new and current team members.
• Contribute to development of a new strategic finance unit within the organization.
