Job summary

Johnson & Johnson, including DePuy Synthes, seeks a Sr. Manager of Strategic Project Management to lead complex, cross-functional programs driving growth and operational excellence.

The role partners with senior leaders to translate strategy into execution across multiple business priorities. The position requires 8–10 years in project/program management within a matrixed organization, strong governance, budgeting, and risk management, plus PMP/PgMP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in project and/or program management within a complex, matrixed organization.
• Proven leadership, influencing, and stakeholder management capabilities at senior levels.
• Expertise in project governance, risk management, budgeting, and performance tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple, large-scale strategic initiatives and interdependent programs aligned to business priorities and transformation objectives.
• Define project scope, success metrics, timelines, resource plans, and budgets; ensure disciplined execution and benefit realization.
• Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, resolve risks, and remove execution barriers.
• Establish and govern project management standards, tools, and best practices to improve consistency and delivery performance.
• Provide clear, executive-level communication on project status, milestones, financial health, and risks.
• Proactively identify dependencies, risks, and change impacts; develop mitigation and change management plans.
• Lead and mentor project managers and team members, fostering accountability, development, and high performance.
• Ensure projects comply with internal governance, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
