Job summary

New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges, seeks a Special Projects Coordinator to plan, coordinate and deliver strategic initiatives across multiple units. You will work under the Assistant Commissioner of Finance and Performance Management to drive operational priorities and business improvements.

The role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills, with experience in public sector processes, procurement, and financial programming.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required with 3+ years in business promotion or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; managerial exposure preferred.
• Combination of education and experience may be accepted with two years of managerial/executive experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage special projects from initiation to delivery with clear work plans and milestones.
• Coordinate cross-unit initiatives across Procurement, Expense, Truck Permits and Capital Finance.
• Define objectives, requirements and deliverables with stakeholders and sponsors.
• Engage internal/external partners to support development, analysis and implementation.
• Identify initiatives to improve operations, efficiency and revenue opportunities.
• Research business and financial data to inform recommendations and strategies.
• Prepare reports, dashboards and presentations for executive meetings and status updates.
• Monitor progress, risks and deadlines with trackers and dashboards.
• Perform other related duties as required.
