Job summary

The New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is recruiting for one Administrative Director of Social Services NM-I to function as the Project Manager within the Shelter Operations Division who will oversee program planning, evaluation, and shelter delivery across the City.

This role requires meeting civil service qualifications, a baccalaureate degree with four years of relevant experience, and the ability to lead cross-agency initiatives 24/7 to end homelessness in New York City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; four years of progressively responsible experience.
• One year at administrative or managerial level in a large government agency or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare evaluation reports, policies and workflows by researching information and observing operations.
• Plan and implement direct community development programs by evaluating needs and coordinating with staff.
• Recommend policies and programs by analyzing current systems and best-practice design.
• Analyze operations to provide documentation for funding and long-range planning.
• Direct meetings and facilitate the agenda to achieve consensus on actions.
• Attend unit and staff meetings to keep teams informed of goals and changes.
• Respond to requests for information by determining material needs and coordinating with supervisors.
