Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Management & Commercial Lead (PMCL) in the United States to enhance project delivery by developing PM communities, coaching PMs, and monitoring performance across the business unit. The role reports to the Senior PMCL and includes guidance to Project Management Leads to ensure consistent application of PM processes.

Responsibilities span HSSE practices, leadership of PM teams, PIR oversight, and driving standardized PM practices aligned with Stantec’s PM Framework,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or comparable technical, business, or professional degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
• Strong project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects from pursuit through closeout.
• Ability to identify a project heading towards distress and provide guidance on mitigation measures or corrective action.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Project Independent Reviewer (PIR) for projects
• Conduct regular project review meetings with PMs and project control team members to monitor project performance, budget, schedule, risk, and quality management
• Drive consistent project management practices and procedures in alignment with Stantec PM requirements and the BOU PM Practice Framework
• Conduct the project management review process for PMs and projects within the PM cadre per Stantec PM Framework
• Pursue billable work and serve as a project manager for projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk in compliance with PM requirements
