Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support plant operations and supply chain across Bristol, CT and Preston, CT. You will own end-to-end procurement, develop new suppliers, negotiate terms, and manage supplier performance to improve reliability and reduce costs.

This role requires strong communication, analytical skills, and practical knowledge of procurement systems. You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Corporate Procurement to balance immediate needs

Qualifications

• Three+ years in procurement, sourcing, purchasing, supply chain, contract administration, supplier management or industrial operations.
• Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier qualification and development, competitive bidding, negotiations, and contract management.
• Experience purchasing or managing services, including scope reviews, labor hours/costs, and evaluating supplier proposals with stakeholders.
• Experience using procurement/Supply Chain/ERP platforms for quoting, bidding, POs, and delivery tracking (JAGGAER preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, esp. Excel for spend analysis, bid comparison, and supplier performance.
• Strong communication and relationship management; ability to handle confrontational conversations professionally.
• Ability to explain procurement reasons, educate stakeholders, and drive process changes.
• Sound analytical skills balancing plant needs, supplier capabilities, quality, service, and cost.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives aligned with facility needs and corporate objectives.
• Identify, qualify, and develop new suppliers to expand sourcing options and improve continuity.
• Manage supplier qualification, onboarding, relationships, and performance oversight.
• Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, bid reviews, timing, and supplier selection.
• Coordinate bid review meetings, supplier conferences, and site visits.
• Lead cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining quality and safety.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other stakeholders to define scopes of work and technical requirements.
• Evaluate service proposals for scope, labor hours, materials, terms, and overall value.
• Negotiate terms, coordinate contract reviews, and facilitate awards.
• Monitor supplier performance and contract compliance; amend/renew as needed.
• Address supplier disputes professionally and align with procurement objectives.
• Issue POs, monitor delivery, track shipments, and expedite critical materials.
• Use procurement platforms to manage supplier data, bidding, purchasing and orders.
• Support budgeting and financial planning with procurement data.
