Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Purchasing Agent for a contract-to-hire role based on-site at a manufacturing facility in Vineland, NJ. You will identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and manage purchase orders to support production needs.

The role requires ERP experience, strong communication, and meticulous record-keeping. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with internal policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Experience negotiating vendor contracts and managing supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost.
• Negotiate pricing and terms to secure favorable contracts.
• Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely deliveries and quality standards.
• Create, review, and process purchase orders accurately and promptly.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to meet production needs.
• Utilize ERP and procurement systems to track orders and maintain records.
• Analyze supplier performance and market trends to inform decisions.
• Collaborate across departments to align purchasing with business needs.
• Address supply chain disruptions by identifying alternatives.
• Maintain documentation of contracts and purchasing transactions for audit.
