Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Procurement Senior Professional to manage strategic sourcing across multiple categories, guiding the full procurement lifecycle from market review to contract execution. You will collaborate with engineering, legal, and finance to align procurement with business goals.

The role emphasizes supplier management, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and governance to ensure reliable delivery of power grid products and services while upholding ethics and compliance.

Qualifications

• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within a large multinational organization.
• Experience leading complex procurement projects, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and monitoring supplier performance.
• Proficiency in procurement software and SAP ERP systems, with knowledge of global supply chain operations, risk management, and ethical sourcing practices.
• CPSM, CIPM, or comparable professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for goods and services.
• Lead procurement activities including supplier identification, RFP/RFQ processes, bid evaluation, negotiation, contract drafting, and vendor management.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with suppliers to support innovation and continuous improvement.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement procurement strategies to achieve savings while maintaining quality and delivery requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and manage performance issues and disputes.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, legal, and finance teams to support business requirements.
• Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and emerging technologies to identify sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, savings, and supplier performance.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
