Job summary

New River Community College seeks a Procurement and Asset Specialist to support departments in acquiring goods and services, negotiate contracts, and maintain accurate asset inventories. Qualifications

• Experience with procurement processes, including quotes, vendor interaction, purchases, and contract administration.
• Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Excel to enter, organize, track, and maintain data and records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong accountability and attention to detail.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interpret and follow policies, procedures, and regulations related to procurement, purchasing, and asset accountability.

Responsibilities

• Support departments in procuring goods and services, prioritizing cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate for and ensure compliance with college-wide contracts.
• Maintain asset records, locations, condition, and value; conduct annual inventories.
• Provide training to employees on eVA and procurement card procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
