Job summary

Transit Management seeks a procurement specialist to join the Finance staff in Charlotte, NC. The role liaises with Maintenance Parts, Finance, and City procurement to ensure compliance with City rules and procedures, while supporting purchasing and contract administration.

You will track orders, assist with documents, maintain vendor relations, and support inventory counts, audits, and reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in procurement and/or purchasing at a large company.
• B.A. or B.S. in business, purchasing or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Knowledge of governmental procurement is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance in purchasing parts and services per policies.
• Track open purchase orders to prevent overspending and delays.
• Prepare documents for approval in accounting/procurement systems.
• Maintain vendor relationships and timely source documents.
• Track contract terms and submit changes promptly.
• Assist with inventory counts and audits.
• Ensure pricing aligns with contracts; maintain records.
