Job summary

VMI Group Inc. is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to build strategic relationships with commercial and industrial clients for concrete construction services.

You will prepare cost estimates, manage project budgets, and oversee bid proposals while coordinating with the Operations team to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to execution. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering, 8+ years in commercial construction, and strong business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction.
• Strong business development background and construction market knowledge.
• Driver's license & pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Build strategic relationships and opportunities with commercial and industrial clients.
• Prepare cost estimates by analyzing project specs, drawings, and contracts; submit bid proposals.
• Own project budget and maintain communication with Operations team.
• Lead bid strategy, estimates accuracy, client negotiations and turnover.
• Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering during design development.
• Develop conceptual and schematic budgets with owners, architects, and engineers.
• Assist buyout and ensure smooth handoff from preconstruction to operations.
• Meet with potential clients to discuss options for proposed services.
