Job summary

VMI Group Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager to build strategic relationships with commercial and industrial clients and guide projects from bid to completion.

You will work with field crews to meet budget, schedule, quality, and safety objectives, owning project budgets and coordinating with Project Management and Field teams. You will lead the project team, oversee safety and financial performance, develop plans, allocate resources, and nurture client relationships to drive on-time

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive field management experience for a large-scale GC or concrete contractor.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
• Strong scheduling, cost control, and ability to manage large teams.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
• Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and pre-employment drug screen.

• Supervise, direct, develop, and communicate with the project team.
• Ensure safety performance and financial results across all projects.
• Develop overall project plans and set team expectations.
• Direct and align manpower resources to meet execution goals.
• Maintain client relationships throughout the project.
• Plan and supervise construction methods, sequencing, and schedules.
• Identify and resolve field construction problems.
• Review budgets, schedules, and productivity with PMs.
• Participate in business development and estimating activities.
• Lead hiring and development of project managers and field leadership.
