Job summary

GEICO is seeking an accomplished government relations professional to advance the company’s state legislative and regulatory agenda. This role requires monitoring regulatory developments, formulating comprehensive government affairs strategies, and building relationships with public officials, industry associations, and other stakeholders.

Based in the United States, the candidate will travel domestically, work with the Senior Director of Government & Regulatory Affairs, and lead policymaker

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school; admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction preferred.
• 10 years of government affairs in insurance regulatory/public policy fields.
• Proven experience developing regulatory/legislative strategies.
• Knowledge of U.S. insurance regulatory systems (NAIC, state depts).
• Strong analytical and communication skills adaptable to audiences.
• Ability to influence decision-makers and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Policymaker engagement with state legislators, agencies, and trade associations.
• Regulatory and legislative analysis in collaboration with internal teams.
• Strategic monitoring of regulatory trends and risk communication to leadership.
• Strategic support for policy positions, language, and interactions with regulators.
• Coalition building and management of external resources for GEICO priorities.
• Carry out additional regulatory or legislative responsibilities as priorities evolve.
