Job summary

GEICO seeks an accomplished Senior Director to lead and inspire our Staff Counsel teams. This role requires a seasoned legal executive with a track record managing large, diverse teams and balancing multiple priorities while advancing GEICO’s litigation objectives.

Location: remote with occasional in-office collaboration. Responsibilities include strategy, case management, budget oversight, and stakeholder coordination.

Qualifications

• Must be actively licensed to practice law in at least one state and maintain CLE requirements.
• Minimum of twelve years of litigation experience, focused on insurance defense or personal injury.
• Senior-level management experience required, with experience leading multi-office teams.
• Experience managing attorneys and support staff in high-volume environments.
• Experience in commercial litigation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Staff Counsel offices with accountability and alignment to GEICO's mission.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies aligned with goals.
• Provide mentorship and professional development for team members.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to shape policy and ensure compliance.
• Oversee litigation case management from initiation to resolution.
• Monitor case performance and adjust strategies to optimize outcomes.
• Manage office budgets and resource allocation.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding policies and handling.
• Identify and implement best practices and provide training.
