Job summary

Capital One is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead large, cross-functional programs and drive PMO initiatives. You will direct strategic project work, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and collaborate with VPs to associates to deliver on commitments.

The role emphasizes governance, process improvement, and stakeholder management in a dynamic banking environment. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
• At least 8 years of Project Management experience.
• At least 1 year of People Management experience.
• Masters Degree (preferred).
• At least 10 years of Project Management experience (preferred).
• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification (preferred).
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills (preferred).
• Excellent problem solving and influencing skills (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports.
• Design, develop, and manage project plans in a complex, dynamic environment.
• Manage scope, schedule, resources, budget, status, impediments, and risks/issues.
• Ensure projects are appropriately documented, delivered on time, and risk-mitigated.
• Partner cross-functionally with project customers to drive project delivery.
• Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver commitments.
• Coach and develop associates.
• Influence and manage stakeholders and intent owners across Capital One, from VP+ to associate.
• Set direction, manage expectations, and lead cross-functional teams.
• Serve as subject matter expert on governance and process improvement initiatives.
• Drive cross-division initiatives, strategy, and high-priority projects within a newly formed PMO.
