Job summary

The Alliance for Decision Education seeks a Director of Strategic Partnerships to lead a high‑impact portfolio of U.S. education partnerships. You will shape strategy, manage a diverse set of partners, and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes that expand the reach of Decision Education.

You will oversee a team, set partnership standards, and drive execution with senior leadership. This role requires deep K−12 education insight and strong relationship management.

Qualifications

• At least eight years of experience in strategic partnerships, partner management, or related roles within the U.S. K–12 education industry.
• Demonstrated experience leading a partnership or account management team and building processes for portfolio management.
• Deep understanding of the U.S. K–12 education ecosystem and how ideas move through states, districts, and providers.
• Proven ability to develop strategic account plans with KPIs and joint goals for partnerships.
• Experience structuring complex partnership arrangements (MOUs, contracts, licensing, revenue sharing).
• Proven ability to orchestrate cross‑functional teams and leverage data to drive execution.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain processes to manage the strategic partnership pipeline and portfolio.
• Establish criteria to evaluate, triage, and prioritize partnership opportunities aligned with priorities.
• Assess opportunities and advise senior leadership on advancing, deferring, or reshaping partnerships.
• Develop strategic account plans with objectives, roles, resources, measures, and decision points.
• Lead the partnerships team to execute priorities and maintain visibility into progress and risks.
• Establish portfolio-level reporting on health, movement, resources, and opportunities.
• Identify patterns and suggest improvements to strategy and resourcing over time.
• Oversee strategic account planning for priority partners with clear goals and timelines.
• Guide teams in setting expectations, commitments, and mutual accountability with partners.
• Oversee development and execution of partnership agreements across internal teams.
• Ensure joint KPIs are in place and conduct regular reviews of progress and risks.
• Coach team members to strengthen account management and senior-level relationship skills.
• Coordinate across teams to provide content, research, policy and learning support for partners.
• Translate commitments into internal workplans with owners and deadlines.
• Balance partner needs with capacity and surface risks for leadership.
