Builders FirstSource, Inc. is hiring an Operations Manager to lead location-wide operations, including delivery, warehousing, and staff development.

The role focuses on cost controls, process optimization, and cross-department collaboration to ensure timely customer service—driving efficiency and safety across the operation. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university, and 4 years of directly related experience in the lumber or building materials industry with multiple assignments in all phases of the business; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge/experience in building materials, procurement, inventory management and supervision of people is required.
• Must also have strong customer service experience, and good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily operations of the delivery and warehousing functions.
• Budgets & controls operating costs to meet or exceed annual profit targets.
• Plans operations strategies and goals, establishing each department’s priorities and sequences for the smooth flow of products to customers.
• Reviews team performance with reports to ensure on-time deliveries and forecast planning needs.
• Resolves problems relating to processes, costs, orders, maintenance, inventory control, equipment/trucks, services, and systems.
• Prepares operations schedules and coordinates staffing to ensure optimal resource utilization.
• Directs safety compliance with DOT regulations, forklift operations, OSHA compliance, etc.
• Mentors and trains drivers, yard personnel, and supervisors.
• Engages with cross-department teams to align buying, shipping, and accounts processes.
