Builders FirstSource, Inc. is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee multiple locations and the flow of materials from production to customers.

You will manage delivery, warehousing, budgeting, and staff development to meet efficiency and cost targets. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and several years of related experience in building materials, procurement, and inventory control, with a strong focus on customer service and organizational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of directly related experience in lumber/building materials or similar; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge/experience in building materials, procurement, inventory management and supervision of people.
• Strong customer service experience and good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operations and physical conditions of the location’s facilities and equipment; manage delivery and warehousing functions.
• Budget and control operating costs to meet profit targets.
• Plan operations strategies and goals; set department priorities for smooth flow of products to customers.
• Review performance with reports on on-time deliveries, back orders, hours worked, shipments received to forecast planning needs.
• Resolve process and cost issues affecting the division’s ability to meet customer needs.
• Coordinate staffing with team leaders to ensure optimal resource utilization.
• Foster cross-department communication and drive process improvements across units.
