Job summary

Delta Dental of California is seeking a Consultative Account Manager (CAM) for National Accounts who will develop and execute strategies, diagnose client needs, and drive measurable outcomes across high-value portfolios. You will act as a strategic advisor to clients and brokers, lead renewal and upsell efforts, monitor performance data, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver strong value and growth.

Frequent travel is required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in employee benefits and a bachelor’s degree.
• Sophisticated business math and analytical skills with ability to position financial outcomes.
• Excellent consultative selling and negotiation skills with ability to influence decision-makers.
• Strong time management and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on formal business presentations.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% including overnight travel; valid driver’s license.
• Life and Health Insurance Producer License required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic account plans to maximize value and achieve retention and revenue goals.
• Serve as the primary strategic advisor for high-profile accounts and lead renewal, retention, and upsell strategies.
• Conduct performance assessments and analyze client data to identify opportunities and tailor solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with executive-level client and broker contacts to drive long-term growth.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure effective implementation and issue resolution; mentor teammates as needed.
• Monitor performance metrics, financial results, and customer satisfaction to proactively address risks.
