Job summary

ANSER is seeking a Metallurgy Analyst to support the IBAS program within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Industrial Base Policy. You will evaluate critical minerals, materials, and supply chains, and help develop acquisition documentation.

Remote work options include telework within the National Capital Region, with onsite at Arlington, VA or Mark Center Alexandria, VA. The role requires active security clearance and relevant technical background.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in mineral processing, production, science, or technology analysis.
  • Understanding of or experience in critical and strategic materials/minerals, mineralogy, mineral exploration, or geology.
  • Demonstrated analytical and communication skills, able to translate complex industrial base issues into clear reports for senior leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-tempo, team-oriented environment and independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with DoD, interagency partners, and military services to identify critical minerals and materials requirements and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Manage and execute an annual budget exceeding $1 billion across large-scale projects.
  • Evaluate industry project calls to advance technical capabilities from prototype to production.
  • Assess proposed projects for feasibility and recommend investment and prototyping efforts.
  • Monitor cost, schedule, performance, and progress across projects and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Represent government interests in meetings with industry and government, and document outcomes and follow-ups.
