Job summary

GCG Custom Engineered Solutions is seeking a Buyer to join our procurement team. You will plan and purchase raw materials to support cable assembly operations, maintain inventory, and ensure on-time delivery while controlling costs and supplier performance.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm EST. You will collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain to align material availability, issue purchase orders, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement in

Qualifications

3–5 years of experience in purchasing, buyer, or materials planning within manufacturing
Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle strongly preferred)
Strong understanding of material planning, inventory control, and procurement processes
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
Effective communication and negotiation with internal teams and suppliers
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business applications
Detail-oriented with emphasis on accuracy and follow-through

Responsibilities

Manage purchase orders from requisition through receipt, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Procure raw materials, MRO, and services at optimal cost, quality, and lead time
Monitor open orders and manage delivery schedules to prevent shortages
Review MRP outputs to plan and maintain inventory levels
Establish and adjust safety stock levels aligned with production needs
Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain to align material availability with schedules
Resolve material shortages, quality concerns, and supplier discrepancies
