Job summary

GCG Custom Engineered Solutions is seeking a Buyer to join the procurement team to plan and purchase raw materials for cable assembly operations. You will manage POs, coordinate with internal teams, and ensure material availability to meet production schedules.

Responsibilities include handling supplier sourcing, negotiating lead times, optimizing costs, and maintaining ERP data integrity to support on-time delivery and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years in purchasing, buyer, or materials planning in manufacturing.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems, Oracle preferred.
• Strong material planning, inventory control, and procurement knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and negotiation with internal teams and suppliers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business apps.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, follow-through, and problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Procurement Execution & Order Management: Manage purchase orders from requisition through receipt, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with production requirements.
• Material Planning & Inventory Management: Review MRP outputs in Oracle to plan and maintain appropriate inventory levels for assigned commodities.
• Supplier Management & Sourcing: Source and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotations, and negotiate pricing and lead times.
• Operational & Cross-Functional Support: Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align material availability with manufacturing schedules, resolve material issues, support cost reduction initiatives, and maintain data integrity in ERP systems.
