Job summary

GCG is seeking a Buyer to join the Custom Engineered Solutions procurement team. You will plan and purchase raw materials for cable assembly operations to ensure timely production while maintaining inventory levels and costs.

You’ll coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to manage demand signals, execute purchase orders, and sustain material flow for on-time delivery and operational efficiency. Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:00am–4:00pm EST.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, buyer, or materials planning in manufacturing.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle strongly preferred).
• Strong understanding of material planning, inventory control, and procurement processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and negotiation with internal teams and suppliers.
• Proficiency in Excel and standard business apps.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from requisition through receipt, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Procure raw materials, MRO, and services at optimal cost, quality, and lead time.
• Monitor open orders and adjust delivery schedules to prevent shortages.
• Review MRP outputs in Oracle to plan inventory levels.
• Establish safety stock levels aligned with production needs.
• Balance inventory investment with service level expectations.
