Job summary

GCG Custom Engineered Solutions is seeking a Buyer to join the procurement team, focusing on planning and purchasing raw materials for cable assembly operations. You’ll work to ensure material availability aligns with production demands while maintaining inventory levels, costs, and supplier performance.

The role requires close collaboration with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to manage demand signals, execute purchase orders, and maintain ERP data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
• 3–5 years in purchasing/materials planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from requisition through receipt, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Procure raw materials, MRO, and services at optimal cost, quality, and lead time.
• Monitor open orders and proactively manage delivery schedules to prevent shortages or disruptions.
• Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to align material availability with schedules.
• Resolve material issues including shortages, quality concerns, and supplier discrepancies.
