Job summary

JCPenney is seeking an Asset Protection professional to observe activities, collect evidence, and execute investigation routines to identify and resolve theft. You will interview customers and contractors, report fraud to AP and leadership, and maintain meticulous records of all actions and outcomes.

The role involves travel to stores, collaboration with law enforcement, and providing safety support across locations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years retail work experience/Asset Protection/Security or equivalent leadership experience/education preferred.
• Must be age 18+.
• High School diploma or equivalent work experience; AA/BA/BS in Criminal Justice or Business Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity and collect evidence utilizing CCTV and observations from the sales floor.
• Execute required Company investigation routines to identify and resolve theft, and properly document all stages.
• Conduct external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft in accordance with local laws and Company policy.
• Report suspected fraud and policy infractions to AP and/or Store leadership.
• Create and manage records for reporting apprehension, witness statements, retention of evidence, and disposition of recovered merchandise.
• Travel to stores as necessary.
• Attend court hearings and update appropriate files; maintain relationships with local law enforcement.
