Job summary

JCPenney is seeking an Asset Protection professional to help shrink and safeguard store assets across locations. You will observe activities, collect evidence, interview customers and contractors, and report suspected fraud following company policy and AP directives.

The role includes documenting investigations, supporting safety programs, and assisting with audits. Travel to stores is required as needed, with a focus on risk reduction and protecting customers and associates.

Qualifications

• 1+ years retail work experience/Asset Protection/Security or equivalent leadership experience/education preferred.
• Must be age 18+.
• High School diploma or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity and collects evidence.
• Executes investigation routines and documents all stages.
• Conducts external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft.
• Reports suspected fraud to AP and/or store leadership.
• Creates and manages records for reporting apprehension, witness statements, and disposition of recovered merchandise.
• Collects evidence and monitors associate activity for investigations when directed.
• Identifies potential acts of theft and fraud by observing activity and reports.
• Investigates suspicious behavior and documents findings.
• Attends court hearings and coordinates with local law enforcement.
• Travels to stores as necessary.
• Analyzes intelligence on individuals and booster groups involved in theft.
