Job summary

JCPenney in the United States is seeking a proactive Asset Protection professional to deter theft and fraud, conduct investigations, and document all steps of the process. You will interview customers and contractors per policy and collaborate with store leadership to resolve incidents.

The role requires monitoring activity, gathering evidence, and sometimes traveling to stores. You’ll work with AP leadership and local law enforcement, supporting safety and incident resolution across locations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years retail work experience or Asset Protection/Security leadership preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent; Criminal Justice or Business Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity and collect evidence.
• Execute investigation routines and document all stages of theft resolution.
• Conduct external interviews with customers and contractors per policy and law.
• Report suspected fraud and policy violations to AP and store leadership.
• Collect and manage records for apprehension, statements, evidence, and disposition of merchandise.
• Monitor associate activity as needed in investigations and serve as interview witness.
• Attend court hearings and coordinate with law enforcement as required.
• Travel to stores as necessary.
• Analyze intelligence on individuals and booster groups involved in theft.
