Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions in Indianapolis seeks a Logistics Manager to plan and direct operations, leading dispatch staff, company drivers, and owner operators while ensuring effective communication across teams.

You will drive efficiency through route planning, scheduling, and policy development, with a focus on safety and cost control. The role requires strong leadership and hands-on operational experience in a Fortune 500 logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma/GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or related field.
• 2+ years of leading and managing direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily fleet operations and scheduling.
• Develop policies for efficient transportation systems and terminals.
• Set routes, schedules, and assign drivers and vehicles.
• Communicate operational information to stores, drivers, and others.
• Recommend compliance improvements to policies and programs.
• Analyze vehicle and driver schedules to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Review reports to evaluate productivity and inform changes.
• Recruit, orient, train, and monitor progression of new drivers.
• Monitor turnover and performance, and implement cost-control measures.
• Ensure adherence to safety, logs, equipment condition and regulations.
