Job summary

Covenant Logistics is seeking an Account Manager to serve as the operations link between Covenant, professional drivers, and customers. You will manage customer relationships, coordinate freight operations, resolve issues, and drive service excellence to grow the business.

You will directly oversee drivers, gain exposure to P&L management, and may supervise staff. This role requires strong communication, organization, and leadership to ensure on-time pickups and optimal asset utilization.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree or related experience in Business/Logistics preferred.
• AS400 experience is preferred but not required.
• 2-5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or account management.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Provide routine updates on load status and service performance.
• P&L accountability for assigned accounts.
• Coach/mentor drivers to meet customer service goals.
• Maximize utilization of drivers and assets.
• Prepare weekly/monthly performance reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
• Manage and solicit business from customers using available capacity.
• Input load information accurately into the system.
