Job summary

Hub Group seeks an Account Management Specialist to serve as the primary liaison between the company and its customers, ensuring expectations are met and issues are resolved with internal departments.

The role emphasizes proactive account management, charge analysis, order monitoring, and collaboration with Operations to optimize margins and On-Time Performance (OTP). Strong communication and MS Office proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or management preferred.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Experience with EDI processes, Web Tender Portals, fax and other electronic communication preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Develop proactive relationship with assigned customer accounts and resolve issues promptly.
• Determine billable accessorial charges and work to minimize disputes.
• Monitor and report order acceptance, maintenance, and accessorial management via email/phone/system.
• Offer alternative transportation solutions by analyzing internal and external metrics.
• Manage customer accounts to maximize margin, network efficiency, and OTP.
• Communicate with shipper/consignee on exceptions and resolutions.
• Support profitability and minimize customer cost exposure with Operations.
• Maintain service quality and inform supervisor of potential problems.
• Perform duties as assigned or changed from time to time.
