Job summary

Texas Regional Bank is seeking a Relationship Manager to grow profitable lending relationships under the supervision of the Market President. The role emphasizes new loan and deposit opportunities, portfolio management, and close collaboration with underwriting and other departments to ensure timely loan closings.

You will develop strategies, solicit referrals, conduct client interviews, and monitor credit quality while maintaining strong customer contact and compliance with bank policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of solid experience in new business development, deal structuring, underwriting and portfolio management.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word, Internet and bank-specific software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies, including solicitation of referrals and cold calling to identify high value relationships.
• Interview potential clients, determine loan requirements and introduce appropriate Bank products and services.
• Manage credit portfolio and maintain close customer contact.
• Collaborate with Bank departments in blitz calling, joint meetings and community events.
• Monitor credit quality and data integrity.
• Manage a portfolio of loans and lines of credit, analyze borrowing base certificates, inspect collateral and review loan covenants.
• Participate in the loan application process and prepare initial loan proposals.
• Maintain communication with underwriting to ensure timely loan closings and address client questions.
• Ensure timely responses to pending loan applications and keep clients informed of progress.
• Report on assigned loan portfolio and assist Senior Management and Collections as needed.
• Adhere to credit policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
