Job summary

University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing seeks an Associate Dean for Graduate Clinical Education to provide strategic leadership for the MSN, DNP and related graduate programs. The role oversees curriculum, teaching strategies, accreditation, and program outcomes, in collaboration with senior leaders and department chairs.

Qualifications

• Active licensure or eligible for licensure as RN in Alabama.
• Graduate degree in nursing with an identified area of specialization.
• Doctorate in nursing or a related field.
• Experienced educator with knowledge and experience in nursing education regulatory, accreditation, certification and credentialing requirements.
• Demonstrated successful administrative/leadership experience in an academic setting with graduate clinical programs.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all constituents.
• Demonstrated scholarship and track record in securing external funding.
• Active in professional service at the national level.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all constituents.

Responsibilities

• Subscribe to the mission and core values of UAB and the School of Nursing.
• Serve as a member of the Dean’s Leadership Team.
• Work collaboratively with all members of the Dean’s Leadership Team to support the mission and vision of the School of Nursing and achievement of strategic outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in determining a vision and strategic plan for the Academic mission.
• Lead the development of strategic priorities for graduate clinical programs to include short and long-range goals and objectives, planned strategies, and programmatic outcomes, in collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean, Assistant Deans, Associate Deans, and program faculty and in alignment with the strategic plan of the School of Nursing.
• Ensure curricular integrity by leading Assistant Deans and faculty in the planning, implementation and evaluation of all elements of graduate clinical programs to ensure alignment with relevant professional and accreditation standards.
