Job summary

Virginia Department of Social Services is seeking a Benefits Programs Supervisor at the supervisory level in the occupational group. This role supervises Specialists who determine eligibility for government assistance programs and leads staff to ensure quality case management services.

You will train, lead, and develop staff, monitor case management services, and implement internal policies. Internal applicants only. Bachelor’s degree in human services and lead experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the human services field.
• Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative and programmatic supervision to staff.
• Reviews case management plans for quality assurance of case management services.
• Develops written guidelines for delivery of case management services; assigns caseloads to staff.
• Coordinates and monitors activities of staff.
• Holds individual and group conferences to review cases and problems.
• Recommends hiring, disciplinary actions, transfer, promotion, and termination of personnel within policies.
• May act for the Director of Social Services as designated.
