CopperPoint Insurance Companies is seeking an Executive Underwriter who will drive profitable growth through sound underwriting and targeted agency marketing within an assigned territory. The role partners with Business Development to strengthen agency relationships and applies advanced underwriting expertise to complex commercial risks.

The Executive Underwriter serves as a mentor and technical resource, training Underwriters to support performance and underwriting excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Undergraduate studies in business administration, finance or related fields.
• 10+ years of commercial insurance experience required in addition to degree.
• Advanced knowledge of insurance principles, rates, rules, forms and procedures.

Responsabilités

• Analyze accounts to make sound underwriting decisions based on risk characteristics.
• Price business according to underwriting and pricing guidelines.
• Balance pricing with risk selection for profitability and growth.
• Communicate underwriting issues with agency personnel including declines and exposure concerns.
• Present new and renewal proposals to agency personnel.
• Mentor and train underwriting staff to support performance and excellence.
• Develop and maintain positive agency relationships to drive growth.
• Educate agency staff on CopperPoint products and underwriting philosophy.
• Establish relationships with stakeholders through collaboration.
