Job summary

The role mentors underwriters, partners with Business Development, and leads complex mid-market accounts while ensuring superior service and risk control. This position requires collaboration, strong negotiation, and leadership to achieve growth goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 10+ years of commercial insurance experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of insurance principles, rates, rules, forms, procedures, regulations, coverages, and business processes required.
• Demonstrated experience with complex middle market or large commercial accounts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes all lines accounts to make sound decisions based on risk characteristics and exposure analysis.
• Adheres to authority levels.
• Prices business according to underwriting and pricing guidelines.
• Balances pricing and risk selection with profitable growth and producer relations.
• Communicates with agency personnel on underwriting issues and loss control survey results.
• Presents proposals to agency personnel.
• Maintains high-level customer service internally and externally.
• Meets with agency personnel to build relationships and hit goals.
• Mentors underwriters and supports training initiatives.
• Educates agency staff on products, services, and underwriting philosophy.
