Job summary

The Bronx County District Attorney's Office is seeking a Labor Relations Specialist to support labor management, grievances, and disciplinary processes within the BXDA.

Under the Director of Labor Relations and Discipline, you will coordinate union meetings, conduct background checks, analyze collective bargaining agreements, and prepare investigative materials. This role focuses on fair labor practices and compliance within a large municipal agency.

Qualifications

• Requires a college degree and relevant community work or activities.
• Option 2 requires high school graduation with six years of related experience.
• Option 3 accepts equivalent education/experience with at least one year of option-1 experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in labor management meetings and grievance hearings.
• Liaise with unions, union reps, and other city agencies.
• Conduct background checks.
• Research and analyze collective bargaining agreements, civil service and labor laws.
• May draft and conduct training as needed.
• Assist in performance management, guiding supervisory staff and handling inquiries.
• Maintain spreadsheets, reports, and metrics on grievances, discipline, and performance.
• Collaborate with DCAS and OLR to ensure accuracy in titles and proposals.
• Prepare, review, and act on investigative reports and disciplinary recommendations.
• Organize investigative folders into categorized, chronological evidentiary packages.
• Provide testimony at administrative proceedings.

Education

Baccalaureate degree + 2 years of community work experience

High school diploma + 6 years of community work experience

Equivalent combination with at least 1 year of relevant experience
