Job summary

Amentum is seeking an IT Category Buyer to manage supplier sourcing, relationships, and product knowledge within IT categories. This remote-telework role requires US citizenship and working from within the United States.

You will execute RFQs, negotiate terms, onboard suppliers, and monitor KPI-driven performance while ensuring cost reductions, schedule adherence, and compliant procurement practices across IT categories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field with 5+ years in procurement or supply chain.
• Experience leading negotiations and complex sourcing deals.
• US citizenship required; remote-telework within the US.

Responsibilities

• Support IT category procurement with volume leverage to reduce costs.
• Execute RFQs, bidding, supplier evaluation and negotiations.
• Onboard new suppliers to meet cost, quality, service goals.
• Analyze spend data and market conditions to guide sourcing.
• Maintain POs, pricing, lead times, and contracts in systems.
• Manage supplier performance indicators and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, and other teams for smooth material flow.
• Ensure continuity of supply and mitigate disruptions.
• Support internal and external audits of procurement activities.
