Amentum seeks an IT Category Buyer to lead supplier sourcing and relationship management within one or more IT category groupings. You will drive cost reduction, lead-time improvements, and supplier quality while ensuring compliance with FAR and corporate policies.

US citizenship is required. This remote-telework role requires living in the US to apply, with collaboration across IT, Finance, and other teams.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FAR preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of operations management and supply chain processes in a large organization.
• Basic knowledge of business law, contractual terms and conditions, and how to mitigate risk.
• Ability to make sound business judgments related to strategic supply philosophies and initiatives.
• Ability to synthesize and analyze data to draw conclusions and develop recommendations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external contacts.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including effective negotiation skills.
• Strong project management skills to properly plan, launch and execute projects.
• Proven organizational and planning skills to prioritize and balance multiple projects.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including spreadsheet development.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, Deltek Costpoint, etc.).

Responsabilités

• Lead supplier sourcing and relationship management for IT categories.
• Execute RFQs, bidding, supplier evaluation and negotiations.
• Onboard new suppliers to support cost, quality and service goals.
• Analyze spend data and market conditions to guide sourcing strategies.
• Maintain accurate POs, pricing, lead times, and contracts in systems.
• Develop strong supplier relationships to ensure performance and compliance.
• Monitor supplier KPIs and drive corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct periodic business reviews and supplier improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with IT and Finance to ensure seamless material flow.
• Resolve purchasing issues including delays and invoices.
• Ensure continuity of supply for critical materials and mitigate risks.
