Job summary

Amentum seeks an IT Category Buyer to manage supplier sourcing, relationships, and product knowledge within IT categories. You will handle RFQs, negotiations, and onboarding of suppliers to meet cost, quality, and schedule goals, while ensuring compliance and collaboration across IT and Finance teams.

This remote‑telework role requires US residency and citizenship, with compensation in a broad $90K–$120K range and standard benefits.

Qualifications

• Typically, bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field, and five years of experience in procurement or related field.
• CPM/AAPICS certifications are preferred.
• Experience leading negotiations and implementing supply chain deals.
• US Citizenship is required to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement operations for assigned IT categories to reduce costs and improve supplier performance.
• Execute RFQs, competitive bidding, supplier evaluation, and negotiations.
• Identify and onboard new suppliers to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
• Analyze spending data to recommend sourcing strategies.
• Maintain records of quotes, contracts and supplier certifications.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance and other teams to ensure seamless material flow.
