Job summary

Amentum, a global engineering and technology leader, seeks an IT Category Buyer to source suppliers and manage IT category spend. You will lead negotiations, onboard suppliers, and analyze data to optimize cost, quality, and delivery while ensuring continuity of supply for critical IT materials.

Role requires US citizenship and the ability to work remotely from within the United States. Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and procurement processes is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and five years of procurement or related experience.
• CPM/AAPICS certifications are preferred.
• Proven experience leading negotiations and implementing supply chain deals.
• US Citizenship is required to apply; remote role within the US.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement operations for IT categories to reduce costs and improve supplier quality.
• Execute RFQs, competitive bidding, supplier evaluation, and negotiations.
• Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers.
• Analyze spending data and market conditions to guide sourcing strategies.
• Maintain POs, pricing, lead times, and contract terms in systems.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor KPIs.
• Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve cost savings; support budgeting and forecasting.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, and other teams to ensure supply continuity.
