Job summary

Amentum is seeking an IT Category Buyer to source suppliers, manage relationships, and apply procurement best practices within IT category groups. The role requires US citizenship and residence in the US for remote work, with focus on cost reduction and supply continuity across IT categories.

Responsibilities include RFQs, supplier onboarding, spend analysis, and contract management. Strong negotiation, data analysis, and ERP/MRP experience are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with FAR preferred and procurement best practices.
• Advanced operations management and supply chain knowledge.
• Knowledge of contracts, business law basics, and risk mitigation.
• Ability to analyze data and make strategic sourcing recommendations.
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement operations for IT categories to reduce cost and lead times.
• Handle RFQs, competitive bidding, supplier evaluation and negotiations.
• Onboard new suppliers to meet cost and service goals.
• Analyze spend and market data to guide sourcing strategies.
• Maintain POs, pricing, lead times, and contract terms in systems.
