Job summary

Puget Sound Energy seeks a Category/Sourcing Manager to lead IT category management and strategic sourcing across software, SaaS, cloud, hardware, and IT services. You will partner with IT, Finance, Legal, and stakeholders to optimize costs, manage licensing, and address supplier risks.

The role requires 5–7+ years in procurement-related fields, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to translate business needs into commercial terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• 5-7+ years in Strategic Planning, Source-to-Pay, Procurement Process/Governance, Spend Analytics, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; strong verbal and written communication; presentation and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Category Management: identify and evaluate value-generating IT projects, manage portfolio, monitor category dynamics, develop IT category roadmaps.
• Strategic Sourcing: establish pricing, KPIs, and data needs; evaluate licensing models including AI monetization; inform sourcing strategies.
• Sourcing Event Execution: draft documentation, plan negotiations, lead supplier selection and RFx processes, monitor cost savings.
• Supplier Relationship Management: segment suppliers, develop supplier base, track license utilization and value while mitigating risks.
