Job summary

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Category/Sourcing Manager focused on Information Technology. You will lead IT category management across software, SaaS, cloud, hardware, and services, partnering with IT, Finance, Legal, and Security to optimize investments and manage supplier risk.

The role emphasizes AI-enabled offerings, licensing models, and total cost optimization, with attention to regulatory compliance and enterprise-wide procurement governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, supply management, business administration, engineering or related field.
• 5–7+ years in strategic planning, source-to-pay, procurement governance, spend analytics, category management, strategic sourcing or supplier management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
• Interpersonal skills to work with all levels of the organization.
• Strong understanding of procurement governance, processes and policies.
• Strong analytical and interpretive skills to assess data and issues.
• Excellent customer service, problem solving and decision making.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
• Proven strategic planning ability.
• Ability to present complex topics to broad audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate IT value-generating projects based on complexity, resources, risk, time to implement, and financial impact.
• Manage prioritized portfolio of IT category projects long and near term.
• Maintain understanding of IT market dynamics, pricing and licensing changes for suppliers.
• Develop IT category roadmaps considering demand, lifecycle, and AI/monetization models.
• Document sourcing strategies, requirements, and KPIs for IT projects.
• Establish pricing methodologies and SLAs for sourcing projects and negotiations.
• Lead RFx processes including supplier selection and contract optimization.
• Monitor value from sourcing events by comparing baseline spend to awarded spend.
• Collaborate with Legal and IT to address data protection, risk, and vendor performance.
• Translate business/IT requirements into contractual obligations and change management provisions.
