Rocket Software in the United States seeks a Senior Counsel, Risk & Enforcement to guide IP strategy for Rocket-developed and third-party software, with a focus on disputes, trade secrets, licensing, and enforcement.

You will lead internal investigations, manage outside counsel, and collaborate with product, engineering, security, and commercial teams to prevent disputes and strengthen IP protections across the business.

Formación

• J.D. from an accredited law school required.
• (Must be in good standing with the State Bar.)
• Minimum 10 years total experience with 5+ years in law firm litigation and in-house experience.
• 5+ years of IP or technology disputes experience including software, trade secrets, licensing or open source.
• Engineering or technical background preferred with software industry experience.
• Strong litigation strategy, investigations, preservation, discovery and outside counsel management.

Responsabilidades

• Lead IP and technology dispute strategy, including trade secrets, patent, copyright and licensing.
• Act as legal partner to product, engineering, security, services and business teams.
• Develop litigation prevention and readiness frameworks and early risk identification.
• Lead internal investigations and pre-litigation assessments.
• Advise on customer license compliance and enforcement matters.
• Manage disputes with vendors, partners, and third parties involving IP and confidentiality.
• Strengthen documentation, development practices, and access controls to support IP protection.
• Manage outside counsel, experts, e-discovery providers, and litigation budgets.
• Improve discovery readiness, information governance and repeatable workflows.
• Report to senior leadership on disputes, exposure, settlements and risk.
• Monitor developments in trade secret law and software licensing enforcement.
• Deliver legal training on readiness, trade secrets and dispute prevention.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and policy work across risk and enforcement.
