Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking a Category Manager Indirects for the Global Sourcing team. This fully remote role reports to the Director of Indirect Spend for the Americas and covers NA.

Responsibilities include leading strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost optimization across MRO, services, and IT categories. Ideal candidates will have 5–10 years in indirect procurement, strong contract knowledge, and travel up to 40%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or related field.
• Strong negotiation, communication, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced knowledge of supply contracts with domestic and international suppliers.
• Supplier management and engagement experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish category sourcing strategies, lead cross-functional teams, negotiate with suppliers and execute contracts to optimize competitive position.
• Drive supplier performance using metrics; conduct periodic review meetings with follow-up actions.
• Negotiate supplier price reductions by reviewing history and capabilities to align parts with qualified manufacturers.
• Identify cost savings opportunities and variances by reviewing historical costs.
• Bring industry benchmarks and data for vendor selection and negotiation.
• Develop relationships with category suppliers to meet business goals and cost of ownership targets.
• Act as market intelligence provider for categories and inform stakeholders.
• Drive supplier relationship management to mitigate risk and improve performance.
• Create category strategy with internal customers for a unified approach.
• Identify and achieve yearly cost savings targets aligned with budgets.
