Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking a Category Manager Indirects to lead global indirect sourcing across MRO, IT, travel and HR services. This role reports to the Director of Indirect Spend for the Americas and offers a fully remote arrangement with travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities include establishing category strategies, negotiating contracts, driving supplier performance, and achieving cost savings. A Bachelor's degree and 5–10 years in indirect sourcing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–10 years of strategic sourcing and procurement experience in indirect categories.
• Experience leading in matrixed organizations; blend of consulting and internal leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish category sourcing strategies, lead cross-functional sourcing teams, negotiate contracts to optimize competitive position.
• Drive supplier performance using agreed metrics; conduct periodic supplier review meetings with follow-up actions.
• Negotiate price reductions by reviewing sourcing history and supplier capabilities.
• Identify cost savings opportunities and variances by reviewing costs.
• Bring industry benchmarks and data to vendor selection and negotiation.
• Drive supplier relationships to achieve cost of ownership aligned with business goals.
• Act as a market intelligence provider for categories and inform key stakeholders.
• Lead supplier relationship management activities to mitigate risk and improve performance.
• Create category strategy with internal customers for a unified approach.
