Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field with 5–10 years of progressive leadership experience in HR positions.
• Specialized training in employment law, compensation, employee relations, safety, and training preferred.
• Must be able to deal effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
• Must communicate clearly orally and in writing.
• Must maintain confidentiality.
• Must have strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct employment activities, assuring properly qualified employees are recruited and hired in a timely manner.
• Ensure policies and programs are understood and administered consistently; disseminate communication to all employees.
• Oversee HR programs through HR staff; monitor administration of welfare plans and benefits.
• Administer wage and salary administration and performance appraisal programs; review wage ranges for equity.
• Oversee payroll processing on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
• Review and approve management recommendations for terminations.
• Maintain records and reports for department functions.
• Keep executives informed of significant problems affecting company goals.
• Develop and supervise training programs; conduct supervisory training.
• Lead safety and health program implementation and OSHA data tracking.
• Act as liaison between company and laws/regulations (OSHA, Wage-Hour, ERISA, etc.).
• Conduct investigations when complaints arise; manage employee communications and feedback.
• Direct programs for employee communications and community relations.
