Job summary

University of Southern California seeks a Senior HR Partner to serve as a trusted strategic advisor to University Relations leaders. The role involves learning the client business and delivering thoughtful HR guidance that balances immediate needs with longer-term priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, psychology, human resources, industrial relations or related field.
• Seven+ years of experience in human resources or human capital management.
• Broad HR domains experience: total rewards, employee & labor relations, talent management, change management.
• Experience consulting with business unit leaders on talent management, workforce planning and performance management.
• Ability to work with multiple leaders and manage competing priorities.
• Experience presenting complex/sensitive information to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the assigned client organization, developing a strong understanding of its business, people, culture, priorities, and long-term goals.
• Build relationships with employees and leaders at all levels, providing proactive HR consultation, coaching, and guidance.
• Advise leaders on workforce planning, change management, succession planning, performance management, talent development, and organizational effectiveness strategies.
• Manage and resolve employee and labor relations matters, including workplace investigations and sensitive employee matters.
• Coach leaders through complex people decisions and provide thoughtful HR guidance.
• Partner with USC HR Centers of Expertise to deliver solutions across Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, HR systems/analytics, learning and development, and other HR functions.
• Leverage workforce data and feedback to support hiring, promotions, compensation, and career development.
