Job summary

Uprite Construction is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to provide strategic HR support across multiple functions from Irvine, CA. This role partners with managers to drive engagement, performance, and workforce planning in a fast-paced construction environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of HR experience, strong knowledge of California employment law, and a proven ability to handle investigations, coaching, and employee relations with integrity and discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist supporting business leaders.
• Experience supporting construction, engineering, manufacturing, or field-based organizations strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of California employment law.
• Experience handling employee relations, investigations, performance management, and coaching.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to influence and partner with leaders at all levels.
• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to develop and execute people strategies that support organizational goals.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
• Guide managers through performance discussions, corrective action, investigations, and terminations while ensuring consistency and compliance.
• Support organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning initiatives.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring strategies and workforce growth.
• Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coach managers on leadership development, employee engagement, and team effectiveness.
• Assist with change management initiatives during organizational growth and restructuring.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Partner with Payroll and HR Operations on employee lifecycle processes.
• Support compensation and promotion recommendations in partnership with leadership.
• Participate in employee engagement initiatives, culture-building activities, and retention strategies.
• Assist with policy development and continuous improvement of HR programs and processes.
• Support investigations involving employee concerns while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
