Job summary

BNBuilders in Irvine, CA seeks an experienced HR Manager to steer talent strategy for a growing, employee‑owned construction company. You will partner with executives to translate business goals into workforce priorities and lead recruitment, onboarding, performance, compensation, benefits, and compliance programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Organizational Development, or related field; or 10+ years as HR Manager; or equivalent.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Must have construction industry experience and understanding of local market and landscape of general contractors.
• Experience working with outside recruiting partners and managing relationships.
• Certifications: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP.
• Knowledge across HR disciplines: Benefits, Training & development, Recruiting, Employee relations, Compensation & compliance.

Responsibilities

• Translate business strategy into HR priorities across regions, departments, and project teams.
• Provide leadership across HR disciplines including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, compensation, benefits, leave administration, HR operations/HRIS, policy development, compliance, workforce planning, and culture.
• Serve as trusted advisor to executives and managers on complex people matters; coach through organizational change, performance, career development, retention, and experience issues.
• Manage relationships with vendors.
• Establish HR goals, dashboards, and KPIs; analyze workforce data to identify risks and drive improvements.
• Promote BNBuilders' culture, values, inclusion, accountability, and high-performance experience.
• Collaborate with legal and advisors on employment, labor, benefits, compensation and related matters.
• Lead learning and development strategies, including needs assessment, curriculum, leadership programs, mentoring, and high-potential development.
• Ensure training programs are competitive differentiators aligned with capabilities and future needs.
• Partner with operations leaders to develop construction-relevant learning programs for leaders and managers.
• Lead performance and talent management processes: goal setting, reviews, succession planning, development, calibration, career frameworks.
• Develop recruiting and early-career strategies for hard-to-fill construction roles and campus partnerships; strengthen employer branding.
